Architects combine our interest in building conservation
with energy saving technologies and building materials
produced from sustainable sources. Often natural materials
used in historic building repair and alteration is intrinsically
sustainable. They often combine this quality with the
ability to function effectively for hundreds of years.
As a member of the Association of Environmentally Conscious
Building (AECB) and the Institute of Historic Building
Conservation (IHBC) we are committed to reducing the detrimental
impact of our buildings on the worlds environment.
Our
building conservation expertise is used across a wide
range of our everyday project work particularly where
historic buildings are involved. This might commence with
our work on feasibility studies for a particular building
where our conservation and repair advice will provide
the basis for later design and construction work. It might
also be used when giving planning advice or where we are
helping with a particular study. We have often been involved
with the development of local planning policies that might
effect how a particular historic area or conservation
area may be developed. This expertise is also important
when we are providing construction drawings or where we
are preparing detailed specifications and construction
work schedules.
Ongoing and recently completed
