ASAP Architects are also responsible for the inspection of over 130 churches. Most are medieval church buildings. This ensures that we are continuously involved in challenging building conservation and repair projects, ranging from renewal of lead sheet roofs, complex stonework repairs and structural repairs, to the repair and conservation of historic leaded, painted and stained glass.
In addition, the practice partners have wide experience of the re-ordering of church interiors, the careful and thoughtful introduction of toilet and kitchen facilities, and the re-use of redundant church buildings.
The two partners - Elizabeth Walker and Mark Parsons, and consultant - Tony Short, are all Architects Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC), a requirement for working on EH/HLF grant supported projects. Mark Parsons is also a member of The Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors Association and is Nottingham RC Cathedral Church Architect. Liz Walker is one of the four architect representatives on the Derby Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC).
